Whitwell O.A.P. Association will be holding Afternoon Tea with Bingo on Tuesday 18th October 2011 between 2:30PM and 4:00PM at Whitwell Community Centre costing £2.
The next meeting of the Safer Neighbourood Police Panel will take place at 6:30PM until 7:30PM at the Whitwell Community Centre – Hopefully this time it won’t have the time changed the dat before and then get cancelled!
This is your opportunity to raise any concerns with the Police Safer Neighbourhoods team and panel, and to bring any new ideas you may have to them as well.
Tempest Photography will be running a Children’s Portrait Photography session at the Playgroup at Whitwell community Centre on the 21st November 2011 from 9:30AM until 11:00AM.

Whitwell Players Amateur Dramatics Society are currently looking for girls and boys aged between 8 and 15 years old to join the Junior Players. The Junior Players meet every Tuesday between 5:15PM and 7:15PM at the Whitwell Community Centre, everyone is welcome – it doesn’t matter if you think you can’t be of any use, you never know – so get yourself down to see them at the Community Centre and you might be in time to be cast in a short play they are putting on called EeyAww – which has been written for the younger members.

Andy & Lewis’ Magical Mayhem Show will be coming to Whitwell Community Centre on Tuesday 2nd August 2011 with doors opening at 1:30PM and the show starting at 2PM.
Tickets are £3.50 each and available from the community centre. The show promises comedy, magic, balloon modelling and ventriloquism and is aimed at 2-10 year olds.
The Booster Cushion Theatre will be performing Little Red Riding Hood & Friends – a comical twist on Little Red Riding Hood at the Whitwell Community Centre on Tuesday 23rd August at 2PM.
Admission is free and the show is aimed at 4-7 year olds.
Big Screen Films at Whitwell Community Centre will be showing the following films over the next couple of weeks:
- Wednesday 27th July – Disney’s “Tangled” (PG). Starts at 4:30PM, Free Entry, Crisps & Pop etc. available
- Friday 5th August – “West is West” (15). Starts at 7:30PM, Free Entry, Bar Open

A celebration of the 90th year of the Royal British Legion will be taking place with the Great Poppy Party at Whitwell Community Centre on the 10th June 2011 from 5:00PM.
There will be entertainment, stalls, refreshments and the bar will be open. Come along and celebrate the 90th anniversary of The Royal British Legion and raise money to help current servicemen and women as well as ex-service personnel and their families.
